Pakenham Native Grassland Reserve is an endangered native plant community located between Webster Way and Arden Avenue.

This easy walk takes you along a concrete path from Princes Highway to Manna Gum Drive along Kennedy Creek.

Bring a picnic or BBQ to this special spot and enjoy the springtime flowers including golden bush pea and button everlasting wildflowers. Melodious calls of birds species include Honeyeaters, brown tree creepers, blue wrens and scrub wrens can be heard.

Protected by a Trust for Nature conversation covenant, enjoy a peaceful, gentle walk in this pristine 6.8 hectare woodland forest setting. Blue tongue lizards, echidna’s, brown tree creeper and honeyeater birds species can be seen in the reserve.

Orchid species, including Cobra Greenhood, make up 20 per cent of the vegetation in this 50 hectare bushland reserve.

Perfect for bird watchers, the Bunyip Main Race, as it was then known, was built in 1914 to transport water from Tarago to Beaconsfield Reservoir.

Named for its kiln used during World War II to make charcoal for gas producer units fitted to motor cars, Kurth Kiln Regional Park is popular for picnicking, camping, nature walking and horse riding in pristine forest.
